Lost Coast San Soo, Empowering Our Community Through Martial Arts
Lost Coast San Soo (LCSS) is a martial arts studio startup specializing in Kung Foo San Soo, a discipline known for its practical approach to self-defense and its emphasis on physical and emotional mastery. Master Tim has devoted years to developing a teaching methodology that effectively communicates the core concepts and fundamentals of Kung Foo to a broad student base.
The studio, located at 527 4th Street in Eureka, provides an alternative to conventional youth sports, creating a stable and welcoming environment where students of all ages can develop their physical skills, emotional resilience, and personal mastery. With a focus on children and family involvement, LCSS plays a vital role in community development, offering a space for skill development, physical activity, and social interaction.
Opening LCSS has been a lifelong dream for Master Tim, and the realization of this dream was made possible with support from our team at North Edge Financing. North Edge provided the necessary funding for LCSS to equip its studio with top-of-the-line training equipment, office furniture, and promotional materials, ensuring that the space is not only functional but also a welcoming place for everyone.
The funds from North Edge were specifically utilized to purchase mats, focus mitts, kicking shields, mirrors, uniforms, and various other essentials required for the smooth operation of the martial arts studio. This support was instrumental in setting up a foundation for LCSS, enabling it to open its doors and start making a positive impact on the lives of its students and the broader community.
Master Tim Macias is the heart and soul of LCSS. With an impressive background that includes a Master’s thesis on the effects of Orientalism on Muay Thai, eight years of experience in the global gym industry, and over 15 years of working with children in various capacities, he brings a wealth of knowledge, experience, and passion to his role.
Tim’s unique insights into child development, personal coaching, and student motivation, combined with his academic background, make him uniquely positioned to lead LCSS toward success. He serves in all key personnel roles at the studio, ensuring that every aspect of the business aligns with his vision of providing high-quality martial arts training in a supportive and inspiring environment.
“Traditional Martial Arts for a Modern World” is the ethos that guides LCSS, and with the support of AEDC [North Edge Financing], the studio is well on its way to becoming a beacon of inspiration, empowerment, and community development in Eureka and beyond.
